With over 20 years in the visual arts, media and communications field, I began my career in the U.S. Navy, where I served as a photographer, videographer, and public affairs specialist. Following my decade-long military service, I transitioned into civil service as the Chief of Photography for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 2010, while simultaneously completing degrees in Communications and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). During this time, I was at the forefront of the social media explosion, ensuring Cabinet leaders were capable of disseminating timely and effective visual communications on behalf of the Obama Administration to the public. In 2016, I brought my technical, creative, and business knowledge and skills to Capitol Hill, as the Director of Photography for the House. In 2017, I was tasked with combining the office of photography and the graphics department into a unified House Creative Services (HCS) media office, which also incorporated video capabilities into the suite of services.
