Successfully managed the care and treatment process for my child who had a rare pediatric cancer. The care and treatment process included multiple facilities from different states and countries. Medical charges exceeded $5 million which allowed me the rare opportunity to see a lot of healthcare processes, from bad to excellent. It allowed me to see firsthand what processes worked and what didn't. It allowed me to see care at a top 3 facility that utilizes Lean Six Sigma at every corner of their facility and to witness facilities that have great potential if they would adopt such an approach. I have witnessed processes that drove me away from a facility and processes that have made me a recruiter and cheerleader for a facility. It's an experience I would not wish upon anyone, but it has given me a very unique perspective on improving healthcare.
