My professional experiences includes working in the nonprofit sector however my scope of work is broad as a Public Administrator.Currently I’m the Executive Director at Chicago Youth Programs where our focus is centered on providing services that creates opportunities for underserved youth in the Washington Park, Cabrini Green, North Lawndale and Uptown areas of Chicago.My prior roles as a Director of Community Based Programs, Project Manager/Consultant afforded me the opportunity to hone my skills in the areas of; engagement at the community level, understanding the need and issues that exist at the service delivery level, developing policies and procedures and fostering new organizational cultures through systems/theories of change.I have a passion and responsible urge to promote change at a systemic and community level. I'm also passionate about empowering those I serve with the skills and resources necessary to bring about positive change and an overall sense of well-being My experience in leadership and in developing & managing projects has allowed me to be a part of some major transformations within the communities I've had the opportunity to live in.Although I'm an administrator, I'm at my best when connecting with people. I've enjoyed meeting and fostering meaningful relationships as well as networking with people that have the capacity to get the job done!My expertise is in the matters of Community Programming and Development as well as Juvenile Justice Reform. I also have experience in the area of Care Coordination & Service Integration; assessing program standards and performance metrics as it pertains to service delivery and contract obligations. I've served on several governing boards including Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY), a youth advocacy organization and currently serve on the Illinois Association of Juvenile Justice Councils (IAJJC), (BEAC) Black Education Advocacy Coalition and special liaison for the Southland Juvenile Justice Council (SJJC)At the community level I've been instrumental in reforming and energizing several grass-root service organizations as well as helping to promote economic development and sustainability.
