Over the years, I managed a spectrum of businesses while in leadership capacities or as a consultant and have become accomplished at identifying opportunity. Skilled at understanding a business and its goals, I have been able to develop and compose new business documents, strategic plans, and market planning so that the company is enabled to meet their objectives. . My current focus is on independent writing projects and additionally creating works of fiction for publication.

Consulting Manager. A company founded by legendary entrepreneur CEO Jim Connelly, my involvement played a significant role in the start-up. I was working in senior management, but unable to perform duties because of a career-altering injury. Authored prospectus, developed marketing concepts, business strategy, and raised investments for the medical device manufacturing company. The company is now a $50 million business, growing rapidly toward $100 million within 5 years. Retired by disability after this project although I do stay busy writing. This is a winning company.

Owner. Provided business consulting services to a broad base of clientele. The primary business was finding candidates for employment opportunities. Additionally provided key clients with business planning, prospectus development, sales and marketing strategy, and personal development. Developed a wide range of clients from entrepreneurial startups to national companies. Focused on the medical and medical device market.

P&L responsibility. Managed over 300 individuals providing health care services and pharmaceutical infusion to a wide geographical area through multiple locations. Only General Manager to make an earnings plan in full year 1992. The only manager to overachieve plan when I left in 1993 due to company acquisition and move. Offered significant bonus and incentive to stay with the new company, I chose to move into a geographically desirable position.

I was responsible for all profit and loss operations in a company that distributed scientific equipment and supplies. Our customer base was mainly industrial and our key customers were, pharmaceutical, educational, and medical centered companies. The company offered 130,000 different product lines. My responsibility included all aspects of an $80,000,000 business, including management of sales, distribution functions, and customer service. Additionally responsible for the development and implementation of strategic planning, we successfully maintained a bottom-up planning philosophy. I was a fourteen-year employee of the Scientific Products Division of Baxter International Corporation where I served as a Sales Representative, Region Manager, Director of Sales and Marketing, and Area Vice President. Named Area Vice President at age 36, I was one of the youngest to hold the position.. Multiple award winner, including the coveted Vice President of the Year in 1990, the highest award in the company available to me. Overachieved my quota thirteen out of fourteen years as a manager and sales representative.. Responsible for multiple distribution centers across Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Kansas. There were four reporting managers and five associated distribution centers. $80 million dollar revenue business that generated $30 million of gross profit. I never missed a P&L plan and maximized every one of my possible bonuses. As Director of Sales & Marketing in a key acquired division our team quadrupled sales and earnings during three years in the position. My career ended with a serious injury to my back and spine.
