Jeff Clauss is the Director of Air Service Development & Marketing at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE). In addition, Jeff has 32 years of aviation administration, operation and business development experience, which includes working in management roles for three airlines; Air South, Southwest and Air Aruba. Jeff started working for the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in 2000 to fill the position as an Airport Operation Supervisor and quickly advanced to help create a department of air service development and marketing related duties. His extensive operations and administrative experience in both commercial passenger air service management and airport operations makes him very qualified in his position. Jeff was the project manager of the creative and rebranding of the St. Pete-Clearwater Int’l Airport, that was unveiled in February 2013. In 2019, PIE set its 5th consecutive all-time passenger record with 2,288,692 passengers to/from 57 non-stop destinations! In 2021, PIE surpassed the 2 million passenger mark for the 4th time in history with non-stop service to 65 destinations and was 1 of few airports to recover to pre-pandemic passenger numbers! In 2023 PIE surpassed the 2 million passenger mark for the 6th time in history and set a new all-time passenger record of 2,494,952. PIE is ranked 90th out of 519 Commercial Service Airports in the U.S. in enplanements (Federal Aviation Administration). PIE consistently ranks amongst the lowest average round-trip airfare with PIE’s average fare at $127.85 compared to U.S. average fare of $345.09. Jeff is also a licensed airplane and commercial helicopter pilot.
