I lead a team of 4 engineers and technical staff that actively monitor and improve the on-road performance of the more than 1,000 buses in BC… Show more As supervisor of the Fleet Engineering department, I am responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and sustainment of BC Transit’s provincial fleet program in the areas of fleet engineering services, new vehicle specifications, vehicle quality assurance program, technical documentation and fleet technology & innovation. I lead a team of 4 engineers and technical staff that actively monitor and improve the on-road performance of the more than 1,000 buses in BC Transit's fleet. As a team, we implement both preventative and proactive maintenance programs to improve the reliability of this fleet. We support the organization with engineering services such as technical reports, performance testing, incident investigations, root cause analysis and lifecycle analysis.Future vehicles are configured and equipped based on the bus specification that we maintain and update through ongoing stakeholder outreach on consultations.My team inspects newly purchased vehicles through a rigorous quality inspection program to ensure that manufacturing quality meets the expectations of our operations and maintenance staff and customers. Our maintenance teams are supported with technical and training documentation that Fleet Engineering produces. We frequently have the opportunity to work closely with new transit technologies, progressing towards the implementation of electric vehicles and low carbon fuel sources such as CNG and RNG.
