Jeffrey Cossman, M.D., is a pathologist, molecular diagnostics pioneer, company founder and board director. While at NIH, Dr. Cossman led a team that conceived and developed some of the earliest DNA cancer molecular diagnostic tests. He serves as Board Director at Precipio, Inc., was the founder and Board Chairman of United States Diagnostic Standards and co-founder of the Association for Molecular Pathology (AMP). Dr. Cossman served as the Hunter Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pathology of the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Medical Director of Gene Logic, Inc. and Chief Science Officer and Board Director of the Critical Path Institute. He has authored 150 scientific publications, the book: Molecular Genetics in Cancer Diagnosis, and holds patents in molecular diagnostics. He received his M.D. degree and pathology training at the University of Michigan, Stanford University and the National Cancer Institute-National Institutes of Health.
