Hello and Welcome to my page!Over the past several weeks, there have been opportunities to ponder who I am and what I stand for, generally posed as the question ‘Tell us about yourself’. So here goes… My friends and colleagues call me ‘Jeff’ or ‘Croft’. Like most of us, my given name was only used when I was in trouble. Socially I’m a Father, Traveller, Loyal Friend, Trustworthy, Good Listener, and a Direct Communicator. Professionally I’d add words like Leader, Fair, Driven, Customer Advocate, Mentor, and Problem Solver. I prefer to take responsibility in hard situations even if it doesn’t belong to me, so that we can collectively move toward solutions. I am a Retail Director with 30 plus years of comprehensive experience in enterprise transformation, store operations, store planning, merchandising, information systems, project management, road-mapping, marketing, resource and metrics planning, change management, Agile/Waterfall methodologies, ERP implementation, and talent development. I excel at anticipating organizational needs and partnering with internal business units.I’ve lived/worked in one red-light towns and in large cities across ten countries speaking seven different primary languages. I’ve worked for a small family owned firm and for the largest company in the world. At times in my career I was an individual contributor, while at other times I’ve lead several hundred people. I’ve also owned the responsibility for anywhere from $0 to $50 Million P&L dollars. Each of these experiences has helped me round out my skillset and gives me a unique perspective. I thrive most in roles that give me the opportunity to build a team, to improve process, to learn, and to take on new responsibilities. My personal theory is that 80–90% of my skills are core and transferrable, which means I’ll be focused on the remaining 10–20% to quickly learn about you and your unique business needs. If you have additional questions, feel free to hit me up – thanks – j
