Thank you for the opportunity to present my resume for a Teaching artist position . With professional career as a DJ, as well as hands-on teaching experience, I am confident in my ability to become a valuable member of your team.The enclosed resume will highlight my career accomplishments and demonstrate my solid instructional and leadership capabilities. For almost 6 years I have had the opportunity to instruct a variety of middle school, high school and college aged youth, and as a result, I have developed highly effective teaching techniques, instructional methods and a mentoring style, which have allowed me to educate underserved and at-risk youth, and foster an engaging environment that allows students to dream and realize their dreams.One of my greatest strengths as a teaching artist is mentoring students through the process of learning a new skill set and encouraging creative exploration. I achieve this by introducing students to information, individuals, and opportunities that open up their understanding of the world and help them to navigate based on this new understanding. My goal is to increase each student’s motivation, awareness, and understanding of themselves and their place in the world, using instruction in DJ basics and music production as the vehicles to accomplish this.In closing, I welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss how my experience as a DJ and teaching artist would add to your program offerings.
