Direct the 7th grade instructional team and serve as lead administrator for all 7th grade students/families. Plan team, department, and building meeting time to guide staff towards annual strategic goals. Oversee the hiring, guidance and evaluation of all faculty and support staff. Highlights and contributions include: • Partner with principal and associate principal extensively on the development and implementation of curricular and instructional programs, most notably oversight of instructional departments, MTSS, and SEL/Responsive Advisory curriculum. • Prepare the master schedule annually with the administrative team and reimagined its structure when creating in-person hybrid and fully remote teams during the pandemic years.• Organize, coordinate, and administer the registration and scheduling process for all 7th grade students (400-450 annually). • Evaluate 20-25 staff members annually and provide recommendations for continued employment, granting of tenure, sanctioning staff members, and dismissing staff when appropriate. • Collaborate with teacher teams to meet the academic and SEL needs of students and lead staff to formulate action plans based on MTSS tiers of differentiation and intervention. • Coordinate the scheduling and administration of building-wide assessments such as IAR, MAP, and MESH to ensure students are being served academically, socially and emotionally. • Design professional development opportunities with building and district-level administration for new teachers, student assistance team, data analysis, and school-wide diversity training with ADL.

Supervised team of 19 teachers in the instruction and evaluation of shared curriculum. Planed department collaborative time, managed teacher-based course teams, and oversaw the hiring, guidance and evaluation of Social Studies faculty. Highlights and contributions include: • Initiated the department’s first holistic curriculum review in 15 years, resulting in the alignment of all courses with state requirements and national standards, a four-year reorganization of department’s course scope and sequence, and the introduction AP Human Geography for higher-level learners in freshman year. • Facilitated departmental team in crafting a Common Core-based writing standards document that provided each course with guidance on the style, frequency, complexity, skills, and expectations of writing taught.• Served as a member on the Inclusion Committee that researched areas of school exclusion and crafted procedures for greater inclusivity in a three-year action plan presented to the school’s administration. • Managed the development and implementation of service learning courses in six departments across the school as an Executive Team Member for the Service Learning Committee • Coordinated departmental professional development around instructional and content texts such as Mindset, Just Mercy, Never Work Harder than Your Students and Blindspot. • Led PLC that assisted teacher growth in transition to 1:1 instruction, the use of differentiated instruction, and the social-emotional challenges facing adolescents.
