I began my law enforcement career in early 1984. My experience involves uniform patrol and 19 years as an active Field Training Officer and an FTO Instructor. Thirteen years of criminal investigations experience to include Arson, cause and origin, property crimes and over ten years of financial crimes experience. I also have experience in detention and direct detention supervision. 2013-2015, I was detached to a North Georgia Financial Crimes Task Force combating Human Trafficking, Criminal Structuring and Money laundering investigation cases. This assignment involves working as a task force officer with the US Treasury Department and worked in cooperation with local and federal agencies to include AML investigators in an effort to identify criminal activity. I have a strong passion for law enforcement and have enjoyed the path my career has taken. Three decades of law enforcement service in Cherokee County has brought about many challenges, both personal and professional and I'm blessed to have survived them all. I can honestly say, they've molded me into the professional I am today and I've enjoyed the years I've had thus far with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. In June of 2015, I retired from the Sheriff's Office and ran for public office. The primary election took place on May 24, 2016 and good friend and opponent, Frank Reynolds will be Cherokee's next Sheriff. We came up short but ran a great campaign. It's time to see what's in store for the next chapter of my life.
