During my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to delve into the subject of wildfires. The project immediately captivated me, much like a moth to a flame. It sounded thrilling and dynamic, with visions of being in the midst of burning rangelands alongside wildland fire crews and helicopters.To my surprise, upon starting as a graduate assistant, I discovered that the majority of my thesis work would be conducted behind a computer screen.This unexpected turn of events, however, unveiled a new realm of possibilities. As I honed my coding skills, I found myself increasingly excited by the potential that emerged. While I gained substantial knowledge about fire, statistics, and computer programming, the most profound lessons were internal. I realized that my true passion lies in learning and exploring intriguing topics. This revelation ultimately guided me to the field of data science, a journey for which I am profoundly grateful.My passion for data science stems from its capacity to continuously present new and fascinating problems to solve. It equips me with the tools to become a more effective problem solver, while also igniting my creativity through coding in Python.My technical skillset includes proficiency in R (ggplot, tidyverse, shiny, etc.), Python (pandas, numpy, sklearn, NLTK, etc.), and SQL. However, my greatest strengths are my ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programming languages and my unwavering commitment to tackling and solving complex problems.
