Over my 15+ year career as a software engineer, I have had the opportunity to try many different things and work with many different teams. I was able to move from team to team whenever there was an opportunity to help out on projects and quickly aid them in the efforts to move the project to completion. I am a fast learner and quick to assimilate what needs to be accomplished. More recently, I was able to be a part of a business intelligence team for a longer period of time, becoming a go-to person for technical input and business knowledge.My first years were spent building reports out of Crystal Reports, and that provided me with exposure into writing SQL queries and troubleshooting issues. I then had the opportunity to work on a business intelligence / data warehouse project that enhanced my SQL abilities as well as working with the business on requirements gathering and testing. I then transitioned into programming reporting solutions out of Excel. I was able to gain experience writing VBA code writing/modifying macros.Later, I moved over to the business intelligence / data warehouse team again and used my knowledge to help develop executive-level reports, as well as model data for a new transaction system. In addition, I recently finished a project where I had to modify an existing web application for the business. This required me to review ASP.NET / C# code previously written by persons that were no longer at the company and then develop, test, and install the modifications.
