A consultant colorectal surgeon with a broad NHS District General Hospital practice as well as ten years of experience of complex abdominal wall reconstruction for giant, multiply recurrent or complex abdominal wall hernias. Extensive experience of research, academic writing and publication with more than 70 peer reviewed publications, 10 book chapters and 3 books. Has held a number of senior clinical leadership roles within his NHS trust.Served for more than 25 years in the Royal Army Medical Corps with deployments in support of combat operations. Wide experience in the management of torso trauma. Teaches abdominal wall reconstruction and trauma surgical skills on a number of national courses.
