Mining Shared Value is an Engineers Without Borders Canada-supported initiative that works to improve the development impacts of mining activity in host countries. We work to increase local procurement of goods and services by mining projects to achieve this goal. Carried out impact assessment research on Shanti Uganda's Women's Income Generating Group (WIGG) project, based in Luwero District. The WIGG produces Fair Trade bags and beads that are sold in North America. Areas of research included local supply chain analysis, member income assessment, local handicraft market research, and comparisons to other Fair Trade organizations.

Founded and established a non-profit society dedicated to increasing awareness, availability, and sales of Fair Trade products in Metro Vancouver to improve lives in developing countriesMajor achievements under term as inaugural Executive Director included:• Successfully acquiring Fair Trade Town status for Vancouver, the first major city in Canada to gain this award• Garnering extensive media coverage for Fair Trade in local and national press, including television, newspaper, online and print media.• Utilizing social media in a way that has become a model for other regional non-profit organizations.• Launching a Fair Trade Pavilion at the 2010 EPIC Sustainability Consumer trade show, attracting thousands of visitors who engaged with 80+ volunteers to learn more about Fair Trade• Influencing major local institutions to convert to Fair Trade products, such as educational institutions, religious organizations, as well as City of Vancouver offices.• Improving availability of Fair Trade product across the region by facilitating relationships between Canadian Fair Trade companies, distributors and locations where products are sold.• Building a volunteer-based organization that has attracted attention all across Canada• FairTrade Canada has stated Fair Trade Vancouver effectively revolutionized Fair Trade advocacy in the country.

Duties included campaign planning and implementation, volunteer coordination, newsletter management, event-planning, presentation preparation, assisting campus groups, updating and organizing materials, administrative work.
