Jeff Gentile’s introduction to athletic construction began in 2004 when he worked as a project manager for a major sports builder. During this time he oversaw the construction of over 50 running tracks and over 50 synthetic fields. His subsequent professional experience includes an emphasis on surface testing but also included maintenance, repairs, line stripping, and specialized installation.In 2008, Jeff focused his energies on sports surface testing. He became the first in the United States to become FIFA Accredited technician in 2010.As co-founder of Firefly Athletics, LLC dba Firefly Sports testing. Jeff worked with his partner and brother Mike Gentile to lead an organization dedicated to service, integrity, quality and innovation. Jeff serves on the ASTM F08 task group and is passionate about developing new test methods and approaches to address emerging concerns and considerations. Firefly Sports Testing has become North America's largest and most trusted recreational surface testing and inspection firm. Firefly Sports Testing provides a wide range of testing services for over 1,000 surfaces annually in North America alone.
