The Human Exploration Development Support Office of the Johnson Space Center provides support to NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, focused on agency-wide human space flight development activities, including exploration mission design and definition, cross-program integration of NASA's exploration systems development portfolio, and coordination and execution of exploration analog mission requirements that support future mission definition.

Responsible for managing and assessing Center and Agency initiatives to define, develop, and implement management and program activities that fully utilize the Johnson Space Centers core capabilities and resources to meet emerging Agency and national space flight initiatives. The focus of this position was to ensure corporate knowledge and experience in integrating geographic and discipline diverse teams is maintained and used to enhance the accomplishment of new space initiatives.

Constellation Program Office was established in November 2005 to achieve the objectives of maintaining American presence in low Earth orbit, returning to the moon for purposes of establishing an outpost, and laying the foundation to explore Mars and beyond in the first half of the 21st century. As Manager, was responsible for the technical and programmatic leadership of 13,000 civil servant and contractor employees across all 10 NASA Centers and contractor facilities coast-to-coast with an Fiscal Year 2010 budget of $3 billion and a total budget of $12 billion over the period of service.

As Chief of the Flight Director Office, responsible for overall flight preparation and execution of all Shuttle and Station missions. Led a team of 80 employees including 40 civil service employees, 30 of whom were Flight Directors. Managed United Space Alliance support contract for the Flight Director Office. Represented the Mission Operations Directorate to both the Shuttle and Space Station programs in the certification of flight readiness and other programmatic matters.

As Flight Director Office Deputy Chief for ISS, responsible for guiding the activities of 18 ISS Flight Directors and acted as the primary interface between the Mission Operations Team and the ISS Program for matters related to the planning and execution of ISS flight operations. In addition, provided organizational leadership in the response and follow-up to an organizational risk survey of ISS flight controllers in assessing ‘safety consciousness’ and quality of life of ISS controllers.

Responsible for managing and assessing project planning and execution of the integrated verification program for JWST. The focus of this position is to assure a comprehensive set of plans and processes ensure a successful outcome for achieving launch readiness of the next great observatory, and that the execution of the test program is as efficient and streamlined as is reasonably achievable under constrained budget and schedule conditions.
