After many years as an Accountant the last 9 or so of which having been in Investment Banking, I am now taking the plunge to retrain as a Primary School Teacher.Previous experience in Fund Accounting is outlined below.• Fund and portfolio composition, in depth intra class and attribution analysis.• Experience with OEICs, Units Trusts, Pensions and Life Funds.• Good understanding of performance fees and other common fees.• Understanding fund administration arena duties (Role of Custodian, Trustee etc).• Processing and managing in-specie transfers, mergers, fund and class launches and other projects.• Equities – including pricing, research and assessing results of corporate events.• Bonds – Inflation linked bonds, mortgage backed securities, asset backed securities, variable and fixed rate bonds, US bonds and understanding of yield theory and analysis.• Fund of Funds – including pricing, research, rebates, estimated rates and tax vouchers.• Futures – Equity, bond and index futures. Theoretical understanding of price composition, relationship between regular and total return futures.• Options – American and European type options; equity, bond and interest rate (caps and floors) options in various global markets. Good understanding of option pricing theory.• Options on futures.• Swaps - Interest Rate, Credit Default and Total Return Swaps. Validation of prices/P&L provided against Bloomberg or other market sources. Understanding of the life cycle and principles of valuation.• Contracts for Differences – Understanding of life cycle and normal entitlements, corporate action handling and price validation.• FX – spot and forward FX’s. Calculating profit and loss on pending FX contracts including forward FX. Understanding of hedging techniques and principles; have created Excel and VBA based files to validate hedged position on funds.
