 Responsible for corporate logistics finance, back stock planning/operations, logistics supply chain, and logistics reporting over five Distributon Centers and corportate logistics.  Collaborate with internal I.S., as well as Wynright and Vocollect, to develop databases to implement a voice picking system and administer JDA. Evaluate potential new DC sites and measure the ROI of upgrading/combining facilities. Analyze warehouse back stock levels to determine appropriate weeks of supply are being held at DC.  Convert suppliers to cross dock program to drive speed to market initiatives while reducing DC payroll. Work with engineering group to increase rack facings based on forecasted need (doubled SKUs held in one year). Developed various tools for planning departments to submit inventory plans for forecasting. Measure pick density by location to improve Put To Light system efficiency. Oversee team of one Manager, one Senior Financial Analyst, and three Analysts. Developed and implemented a back stock letdown process using Access to manage the process and feed the JDA system.

 Responsible for enforcing the rules of DC Operations and merchant fill rate by administering deductions across 5 DC’s, 26 buying departments and 4 SVP’s to improve efficiency and speed to market while maintaining relations with all parties. Automated several key functions in the department using access databases and FTP transfers to increase my team’s efficiency. Implemented a Vendor Web Portal to handle all charge research and claims, as well as to host our Vendor Relations Guide which streamlined the process for over 800 vendors. Managed team of two corporate analysts and five DC employees.  Convened regular meetings with merchants, suppliers, vendors and other retailers including competitors to help improve supply chain efficiency.

 Responsible for development of yearly budget for the four wall cost of six distribution centers and corporate logistics.  Reported on DC performance in each department against prior year and budget. Regularly met with DC Directors to review key metrics and continuous process improvement plans. Consistent ad-hoc reporting to support one SVP, three VP’s, and two Directors. Responsible for month-end financial close including review of general ledger to ensure accuracy.

 Negotiated and analyzed carrier bids for single source solution in and out of CA, IL, NJ, and GA DC’s. This resulted in $1.4m in savings, as well as consolidating overall carrier base from 120 carriers to less than 20. Consistent ad-hoc reporting to support senior management decisions.  Analyzed vendor origin moves to report positive and negative effects on the company’s transportation cost. Aided in forecasting entire freight budget across departments. Trained company employees on internal systems to make them more valuable of a resource, in order to support the group’s goals. Planned “hot market” sporting events in order to execute short windows against multi-million $ sales goals (i.e. $5M Sales in 48hrs).
