Food Procurement, Fund Development, Special Events & Food Drives
I worked with our great community to produce and facilitate unique campaigns that raised food, funds and awareness for our Social Profit Agency. Worked towards CSHFB's vision that everyone will have access to healthy food and opportunities for growth. The food bank actively and successfully partners with local retailers, farmers and food distributors to reclaim fresh food (produce, dairy, bakery) and recover in-store deli foods. These healthier foods are distributed to our over 1600 visitors each month as well to partner agencies. This endeavor was made possible with the assistance of the Walmart Foundation Grant and Food Banks Canada. The food bank's 15,000 square foot garden at RARE's Springbank Garden is successful in growing over 7,000 pounds of fresh produce for participants.
