Additional academic activities include twenty years as member of the Editorial Board for the American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology, twelve years instructing the “Molecular Pharmacology” course for the University of California, Berkeley Extension, principal investigator for research grant funding from Cure SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and also consortium investigator for the European grant E-Rare-2, ERA-Net for Research on Rare Diseases.
