Director, Interior Engineering
Sr. Project / Chief Engineer, Citation Ascend
Responsible for all engineering aspects of the Citation Ascend, a comprehensive update to the best-selling 560XL. Leading design, experimental prototyping, testing, and certification efforts for the new airframe, systems, avionics, and propulsion features.
Sr. Engineering Manager, Propulsion Mechanical Systems
Upon re-forming the discipline specific engineering teams, I am now once again leading the Propulsion Mechanical Systems organization, in which I lead all Propulsion and Fuel System activity for all future, current, and legacy models. This diverse team is responsible for all propulsion related design, analysis, test, and certification activities. At any given time, we have 2-3 aircraft-level propulsion system integrations and several dozen smaller incremental improvement projects in work, coordinate extensively with domestic and foreign regulatory agencies, and hold leadership positions in multiple international aerospace technical committees.
Engineering Manager - Doors, Reliabilty, And Cabin Safety
Following a general company reorganization of engineering into a program-based organization rather than a discipline based one, I was asked to lead the remaining diverse collection of engineering teams that were too specialized to redeploy to a program based structure. The DRCS organization included: Doors Design, Doors Certification, Part 23 Flight Controls for fielded products, Reliability for all models, and Interior Stress / Flammability / Dynamic Testing. This organization was one of the only teams supporting multiple models and multiple priorities simultaneously, and therefore played strongly to my abilities in agility, customer focus, and multitasking.Simultaneously, I took on multiple special assignments to assist other areas. One such assignment was personally coordinating all Qualification Testing activity for the M700 Longitude program, including creation of an integrated test facility resource database, dynamically scheduling tests from all disciplines into those facilities, coordination with internal and external suppliers to ensure timely execution of testing, and developing and reporting test completion metrics to executive leadership. A second special project involved coordinating the M700 Power Transfer and Conversion Unit (PTCU) design and certification activity. Here, I again called upon my skills in forming and integrating diverse teams, driving progress on a tight schedule, and coordinating with internal and external resources. This extremely time sensitive, multi-year development effort was brought to successful completion with time to spare for critical customer deliveries.
Engineering Manager - Propulsion And Pneumatic Systems
Engineering Manager with technical responsibility over all propulsion, fuel, environmental control, ice protection, and fire suppression systems for all Textron Aviation products. Leading and developing a geographically distributed team of 75+ engineers supporting new product development, current production, and legacy aircraft.
Project / Chief Engineer, Citation X+ And Part 25 Jets Sustaining
Project Engineer / Chief Engineer directing all engineering activities for the Citation X+ new product development program, at the time the world's fastest in-production civilian aircraft. Responsible for disposition of a $125M+ program budget, and an extended engineering team of over 500 personnel. Led Part 25 FAA certification efforts (FAA TC awarded June 2014) as well as multiple foreign validations including EASA, Brazil, China, Canada, and others.Upon completion of the Citation X+program, I transitioned to leading engineering efforts for all in-production Part 25 Citation models, including all variants of the Latitude, Citation X, Sovereign, and Excel business jet families.
Engineering Group Leader, Citation X+
Selected as Engineering Group Leader for Flight Controls and Environmental Control Systems for the new Citation X+ development program.
Senior Design Engineer
Senior Design Engineer for Environmental Control Systems on the Citation X and Sovereign business jets. Earned Textron Six Sigma Green Belt in November 2009.
Engineering Group Leader
Engineering Group Lead for Environmental Systems, Hydraulics, and Landing Gear for the Citation X business jet.
Senior Design Engineer
Engineer / Senior Engineer in flight controls supporting development of the new Sovereign, XLS+, and CJ4 business jet programs. Specialized in design of complex mechanical systems, including throttle quadrants, mechanical flight control mixer assemblies, and pitch control systems.
Aerospace Engineer, Naval Aviation Depot North Island
Fleet Support Engineer for the F/A-18 E/F fleet. Specialized in airframe / structural design and repair. Included temporary assignments on-site with various Super Hornet squadrons.
