While earning my graduate degree in education, I also served the Department of Athletics as an assistant swim coach. Some of my responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Designing and implementing a dryland workout routine for UB's men's & women's swimmers based on improving core strength and flexibility.- Writing workouts for UB's men's and women's mid-distance/stroke group.- Providing clear and concise verbal feeback regarding athlete performance during practice and competition.- Using digital video technology to analyze and correct athlete swimming technique. - Compliling and maintaining a database of prospective student athletes.- Initiating, maintaining and keeping record of communnication with prospective student atheltes via mail, email and telephone.While at UB, I also served as head coach for a 80+ US Master's Swimming team named the Nickel City Splash. Responsibilities included:- Writing and coaching workouts for 4 different ability levels, 3 mornings per week.- Providing clear and concise technique and skill analysis to our swimmers.- Maintaining a team database and tracking team finances.

While employed by Indian River School District, I taught 3 sections of Physical Science and 1 section of Honors Physical Science as a member of a 3 teacher 9th grade science team. As a team member, I was responsible for helping to develop common assessments and unit maps with my other team members. I also assisted with supplemental remediation in mathematics for selected students targeted for potential growth on the DCAS.

During my tenure at IESK, I was responsible for developing a local 6th grade science curriculum and lab course that aligned with national standards. I worked closely with teammates to ensure that the science foundation laid down in grade 6 would be beneficial to them through the 9th grade. During my 2nd year at IESK, I was promoted to Head of Year for grades 6 & 7. Responsibilities here included coordinating with administration, staff, students and parents in developing and promoting effective mentorship of students. I also helped to establish clear expectations for mentors, along with to introduce a pastoral curriculum for use with students and mentors during designated mentor meeting and class meeting times. I was also given the opportunity to collaboratively teach a supplemental lab course that aligned with Cambridge University's prestigious IGCSE curriculum.
