• Safety leadership - Strategic direction of process safety for the refinery to inspire and drive ongoing safe and reliable performance in a demanding and complex operating environment. Accountable directly to Refinery leadership team for detailed reporting of risk management activities. Managing compliance and quality improvement of process safety systems. Including Management of Change system with 500+ changes per year.• Engaging with frontline workers - Supporting frontline supervisors in delivering talkbox talks and morning “job start” sessions on a periodic basis.• Effective communication with key stakeholders - Liaising with government regulator to deliver successful outcomes for periodic government audits and delivery of Major Hazard Facility safety case required by legislation.• Leading through influence - Team leader managing a team of technical risk and yield accounting professionals.• Confident, pro-active and driven - Implemented innovative continuous improvement approach to achieve quality and effectiveness transformations for major hazard facility Process Hazard Analysis program and management of change system.

Involving many different types of hazards – including; toxic and flammable chemicals, nuclear sources, work at heights, pressurized vessels and pipes and natural events) and working with diverse teams from operations, reliability and engineering personnel.• Ability to think analytically - In the role of lead incident investigator, focussed on potentially high consequence process safety incidents.
