I am currently on my twentieth year as a technical manager.January 2007 to PresentAssistant Director of Technology at KHOU-TV (a Belo Station, now Tegna)Primary responsibility is ensuring the sustained operations of a 24/7/365 days facility. Work in cooperation with the Director of Technology to manage a staff of 21 technicians and operators supporting various and divergent systems. I maintain budgets, planning and execution of long-term capital projects, and generally keeping everyone moving forward at a multi-million dollar organization.Secondary responsibility as IT Manager for KHOU Directly responsible for hardware and software budgets, IT capital projects, IT and Technology audit controls. My team of two IT guys and I support over 200 local employees, their equipment/software, and their individual workflows. Each year, KHOU had continually scored the highest of all Belo properties in the annual IT audit.Chief Operator and Transmitter Site Supervisor I am directly responsible for the KHOU transmitter site, transmissions, and maintaining specifications to FCC requirements.I have planned and executed various projects very successfully throughout my career. Recent installations include the Cisco Core Networking replacement, Crispin and ELC Automation. I directly maintain ENPS and Wide Orbit. I am the primary planner in hurricane preparedness for the station, business continuity, and its Technology’s role in the coverage of the event. I am trusted. My decisions are respected.
