• Worked on various continuous improvement projects to improve FPY and reduce scrap for critical rotating jet engine components in the heat treat and forging processes. • Led projects that reduced the amount of non-conformance within heat treat department by over 40% within a 1 year timeframe. • Led capital expenditure projects to improve the heat treat deformation in the product while implementing a system to ensure increased longevity of the heat treat fixtures. • Utilized DMAIC approach to reduce raw material weight of a high-volume part by 6% while maintaining over 99% FPY on said part. • Updated and improved the work instructions for operations to improve clarity and understanding, to aid in the reduction of human performance errors. • Reviewed new and revised technical (material, process, quality. Etc) specifications, as necessary to ensure part conformance. • Review incoming raw material certs and set heat treat temperatures to ensure material properties were met.• Technical contact between conventional forging operations for Howmet Aerospace customers Rolls Royce and KHI. • Submit necessary data, concessions, fixed process approval requests as required. • Submit SPC, updated Methods of Manufacture, Heat Treat Instructions as required.

Customer Support Requests of material with defects or possible defects, Lab training with new equipment/techniques for production metallography laboratory. Defect analysis includes metallography, microhardness, SEM with EDS or WDS analysis, and sample preparation. Knowledge of broad range of titanium metallurgy with knowledge of melting, forging, rolling, heat treatment, and testing.

Performed defect analysis on defects regarding, melting, processing, blending on Titanium alloys varying from Ti CP to Aerospace engine alloys. Performed research and development on strengthening using varying heat treat and alloying additions in titanium alloys. Characterized material defects, root cause and corrective actions for production operations. Worked with the development into emerging markets with titanium oil and gas development.
