Evaluate project and bidding opportunities that best fit company capabilities and schedule. Determine project scope and risks from bid documents, specifications, site visits and takeoffs. Determine proper means and methods for the most productive and competitive proposal for our client/s. Negotiate contracts and scopes. Finalize vendors, subs and materials for a smooth transition to field operations. Coordinate with Superintendant and Project Management team for the most efficient and stream line process for a profitable project. Assist in project management along with change orders and VE and/or invoicing. Project close out and insuring the customers are satisfied with scope and quality of work.

•Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.•Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.•Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.•Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.•Present prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.•Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.•Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.•Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; review technical publications.•Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Cost estimators typically do the following:•Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues •Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time and raw material, equipment, and labor expenses •Travel to job sites to gather information on materials needed, labor requirements, and other factors •Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates •Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on estimates •Use sophisticated computer software to calculate estimates •Evaluate a product’s cost effectiveness or profitability •Recommend ways to make a product more cost effective or profitable •Prepare estimates for clients and other business managers
