For the last six years I have been numerically solving Maxwell's equations as applied to CMOS Imagers. Most of this involves manipulating the stacks and structures in the design to get the most photons of the correct wavelength into their proper bins, given the real-estate constraints. I am an associate member of the Technical Leadership Program and write a quarterly column for Aptina's internal newsletter. I believe in Feyman's dictum that unless you can explain something clearly to an intelligent non-specialist, you don't really understand it.I hold 11 US patents, several of which have also been converted into foreign patents, with several pending (and a few of these are real game-changers!).
