As Freddie Mac’s SVP and Chief External Affairs Officer, Jeff Markowitz leads the company’s Government & Industry Relations, Public Relations & Digital Communications, and Strategic Communications & Marketing functions. These functions include oversight of the company’s media relations, social media, internal communications, the company’s web presence and outreach to Congress, the industry and housing advocacy groups. Markowitz is also the Executive Sponsor of Freddie Mac’s Women’s Interactive Network. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Markowitz was a trial attorney at the Department of Justice, an attorney in the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, and a litigation associate at the Washington, D.C. law firm Patton Boggs. Markowitz is also a former stand-up and improv comedian. Markowitz is a graduate of the Yale Law School and Georgetown University.
