I took a new position at TriMark Corp. in New Hampton, IA.

Drive Process Improvement throughout Engineering and Production. Will Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies, throughput, problem solve, and implement changes.

Responsibility to ensure that every function and operation happens with high quality. To ensure that quality goal is achieved; all parts and products produced and purchased from outside vendors must meet or exceed all customer expectations. Was the voice of our customer at all times by continually communicating the required quality expectations to everyone at GKN. Must quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. Is responsible with the development, documentation, and establishment of quality programs and processes and for monitoring compliance. Is responsible for assisting all areas with measuring and gaging parts, fixtures, assemblies and products.

Taught; Applied Physics 1 & 2, Engineering Mechanics-Statics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Power, Automated Manufacturing Systems (Robotics), Fundamentals of Manufacturing Processes (General Machining), Tool Design, and Machine Design for the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program.

As Project Engineer I oversaw all aspects in the purchase of manufacturing equipment. I also designed and implemented ergonomic improvements to existing machinery, and developed and controlled a material conversion of our product. This included investigating the project specifications, quoting the systems, justifying and submitting request for capital funds, and coordinating equipment design, construction, and installations.As Manufacturing Engineer I designed and implemented process improvements to reduce labor hours, and improve product quality. This involved developing JIT lines, linking machines, implementing SMED and poke-yoke improvements, and facilitating an employee waste elimination team and employee problem solving teams.As Tool Designer I designed the required tooling to produce new jobs, developed new jobs on the first production run to insure tools were designed correctly. I also trouble shot jobs not running on production floor, estimated the hours each design job would take, and checked the work of other designers. I devised the present formulas now being used to design 80% of the tools, and entered them on a spreadsheet.
