Foundation CREF LLC is majority-owned by American Mortgage Investment Partners Management ("AMIP"), a leading alternative asset manager with thousands of defaulted single and multi-family loans and REOs under management across the U.S. Our venture with AMIP is a national platform offering clients early access to pre-foreclosure and REO properties. We provide fix & flip bridge loans and 30-year rental property/portfolio financing for residential and mixed-use properties. We only provide business purpose loans and do not work with owner-occupants.

 Took over new business development, capital-raising, and client service in 2015 within the Northeast region, where ARA as an LA-based manager was not well known. There were few prospects in Salesforce and most existing clients had not been called on in years.  Executed a methodical cold-calling and referral process and established regular communication and performance updates for 450 investors, 250 consultants, and 21 existing clients. Took over as primary ARA contact for 18 consulting firms. Raised $50 million in fund commitments through new and existing investors and their consultants in the Northeast and nationally.

 ARA needed more focus on building new relationships with JV sponsors, sellers, brokers, and intermediaries in the Northeast. Sourced off-market transactions nationwide, primarily in the Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest regions, during 2013-2015. Also completed 30 new business and client update presentations to investors and consultants resulting in $5 million in new commitments and the retention of existing client investments in ARA’s Core Realty Fund.

 Established ARA’s presence as first team member based in the Northeast region by expanding a network of JV sponsors, owners, brokers, and intermediaries. Led the acquisition of $441 million of core investments for the American Core Realty Fund. Advised Research team and the CIO in creating the firm’s core and value-added strategies for target metro markets and submarkets along the Northeast Corridor from Boston to NYC to DC.

Real estate investment management firm serving foreign and domestic institutional investors. Formed by Principals Jeff Miller and Jim Patterson in 2004. Mariner Financial, based in Sydney, Australia, wanted to build a private US REIT as the first step in creating a global REIT platform spanning the US, Europe, and Asia.  Developed a business plan and two-year operating budget and was retained by Mariner to build and manage the REIT. No capital had been raised yet in Australia. Negotiated a credit facility with Wachovia that enabled the acquisition of assets in the US while Mariner started raising equity in AUS. Had direct P&L accountability for all operations to Mariner’s CEO in Sydney. Acquired and managed a $325 million portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties in the US, while leading three road shows throughout Australia which raised $150 million in equity from investors. Arranged permanent senior debt for all properties. Resulted in the listing of the Mariner American Property Income Trust (“MAPIT”) on the Australian Securities Exchange and the start of trading in late 2005. Direct P&L accountability to Mariner HQ in Sydney and responsibility for quarterly reporting and analyst earnings calls.  BCP was also retained in 2004 by former employer Challenger Financial to manage and then sell a $265 million office portfolio previously acquired as employees.

Formed a REIT for an Australian investment manager and served as the U.S. Director. The REIT was listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2005 as the Mariner American Property Income Trust ("MAPIT"). Acquired and managed a $330 million portfolio of commercial properties. Helped raised $150 million in equity from investors on three road shows through Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

Opened Australian investor's first U.S. office in Manhattan. Formed a U.S. REIT and acquired, managed, and sold $265 million in Class A office properties in Boston, Denver, and Austin. Direct P&L accountability with overall responsibility for acquisitions, financing, portfolio and asset management. Helped raise $150 million in equity from investors on three roadshows through the major cities of Australia.

The firm was acquired by CBRE in 1995 and renamed CBRE Investors. Part of a regional team that closed $1.5 billion in commercial property acquisitions from 1988 to 1996, then promoted to Director, Acquisitions in August 1996.
