Cottrell Communications sells and services Telecommunications equipment. I was tasked with selling new systems to businesses and organizations in the Richmond area. Always one of the top salespeople for new sales, I also recruited new salespeople whenever possible. I left the company at the end of 2012 to start Sales Recruiters of Virginia. Cottrell Communications was sold to Epitome Networks 2 months later. I still maintain my friendship with Preston Cottrell; his company was the premier telecom equipment supplier in Richmond for over 30 years.

A & J Technologies was one of Richmond's leading resellers of telecom equipment. I sold directly to end users and was always one of the top salespeople for new sales.The company, in business for over 20 years , was bought by Cottrell Communications in 2009. I was already at Cottrell when the sale took place, and assisted with the transitioning of the two companies.

For over 15 years, I created, wrote and implemented National Account Sales Programs for major telecom manufacturers with Toshiba being the largest and most well known . These programs are still in existence today and Toshiba's program (written in 1986) remains the standard for the industry. Millions of dollars are generated each year by these programs which heavily involve the dealer network that can range from 200 to 500 in size. The programs I wrote were able to create a cooperative climate between manufacturer and dealer, which resulted in a surge of incremental new sales that previously had been impossible to produce in the culture of the past. This is the accomplishment that I am most proud of.Additionally, I would also take time off from travelling and participate in a sales management role with some dealers in the network. This involved direct selling and creating sales forces for each dealer. There were equity positions in some dealerships. Of the 16 years 11 were spent with manufacturers and 5 were with the dealer/distributors themselves.
