I project managed the ISO certification process for a medium size Civil Construction company.Conducted companywide “gap analysis” to determine processes, policies and procedures to identify those that were needed.Liaise with department heads to ensure that process, policies and procedures developed met the needs of the Company.Develop from scratch all documents to meet the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management standard, develop all documents necessary to meet the ISO 14001:2001 Environmental Management System standard, review and develop additional documentation to meet the ISO 4801:2001 Safety Management Systems standards.Development of a robust Document and Record Management System. As a trained Quality Management System Auditor, I designed and implemented the audit program to ensure continual certification of the company’s 3 management systems. Effective Quality Management Systems require both Quality Assurance (QA) – processes in place prior to production as well as Quality Control (QC) – processes in place during production, measures. I am familiar with both processes.Prior to ISO certification the company did not carry out any sub-contractor screening. I developed and implement procedures to ensure that the quality sub-contractors met a suitable standard, with annual reviews to ensure continuing compliance.Continual improvement is the backbone of a robust and effective Quality Management System. Working hand in hand with this you must have an efficient and effective CAPA (Corrective Action, Preventative Action) process. These systems were designed and implement as part of our ISO Certification, and have to date passed 4 separate external audits. All of the above could not have been achieved without the full support of the company employees. The change management process was achieved by the implementation and delivery of extensive training across all areas of the business.
