As Senior Software Engineer, designed, developed, implemented, and tested a variety of complex embedded software systems for use in wireless communications equipment. Worked closely with teams of 5-10 software, VHDL, digital, RF, and support engineers. Served as primary point of contact and relationship manager for technical customer communications on several programs. Led qualification testing of final products to successfully complete programs.As Program/Proposal Manager, executed two programs valued at $2M and $400K; coordinated teams of software, VHDL, digital, RF, and manufacturing engineers; planned schedules; budgeted costs; and interfaced with customers. Acquired contracts for $400K, $420K, and $2M domestic programs, as well as one $20M international program.Select Accomplishments:• Led a team of 4 software and VHDL engineers on a port of the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal in space. • Implemented a 16-bit fixed point differential BPSK demodulator in C++ for a high sensitivity modem. • Designed and implemented portions of MAC and PHY layer software in C for a frequency hopping spread-spectrum wireless router. Increased performance by adding a collision avoidance algorithm (MACA).• Researched, ported, and debugged a C implementation of AODV, a Mobile Ad-Hoc Routing Algorithm, for use in uCLinux running on the ARM core of the TI 5471 DSP. Designed and implemented various embedded Linux applications for use on the NovaRoam 900 series of mobile, wireless routers.• Designed and implemented a C-based BPSK acquisition and demodulation system based on the TI 5510 digital signal processor (DSP). Improved acquisition efficiency by 50% by writing select routines in assembly to meet real-time requirements and sensitivity specifications near BPSK theoretical bit error rates.

Researched, implemented, and optimized a real-time pitch-shifting and time-scaling algorithm on the TI C5416 DSP for use on 16-bit PCM audio samples. Integrated these into a portable digital audio player for use with MP3 audio files.

Performed software design, implementation, and debugging tasks for embedded systems. Integrated and debugged an embedded TCP/IP stack in a wireless router.
