I taught College Writing I in the First Year Writing Program at UMass Lowell and a variety of courses in three departments at Middlesex Community College in both Lowell and Bedford. Among them were Mass Communications and Society; Broadcast Writing, Journalism, Speech, Explorations in Humanities; Explorations: the Criminal Mind; Basic Writing; English Composition; English Fundamentals; and Preparation for College Reading III.In the past, I spent 25 years in journalism, serving in reportorial and editing positions at The Sun, Lowell MA; The Boston Herald; The Patriot-Ledger; and the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune. My last 11 years were at the Herald, where I worked mainly on the sports copy desk, finishing as Night Sports Editor.Then came an eight-year interlude in public high schools as an English and Writing teacher and assistant principal.Finally, I worked as an adjunct at a state university and a community college where, I am happy to say, I got as many courses as I wanted and loved teaching them.Specialties: Teaching of writing and communications courses, sleeping, and reading.
