With a focus on interior build-outs and renovations, I take on each project as a new puzzle to solve - and the more pieces the better! Some of my favorite projects have involved unique challenges like complex staircases, phasing work in occupied spaces or moving antique cars to different floors within a building. I try to anticipate client needs and exceed the level of quality they are expecting. Addressing their concerns and making them feel comfortable is vital to developing client trust and essential for a successful job. Throughout my 35-year career, I have worked in the hospitality, institutional, K-12 markets and with a major focus in commercial interiors. I was a part of the JW Marriott team in Grand Rapids Michigan, which at 24 stories is the tallest project that Pepper had built at the time. I take pride in a 20+ year relationship with a client that over the years has had some very complicated situations. A true measure of success is repeat business and trust from a client.In addition to supervising our construction on site, I lead several training programs within Pepper Construction’s organization because I am dedicated to the future of our trade and the development of quality team members. I train other superintendents on how to use our internal project software and how to achieve field-related certifications. I updated a superintendent field manual to share best practices and support consistency in our operations and developed an "in-house" Green Advantage certification program.
