Profile bio

About Jeff Patrick

My expertise is designing I&C engineering drawing packages that provide ease of construction and control systems commissioning in the field. I have strong electrical design skills that encompass control systems, custom panel design, powerdesign for low voltage 480VAC and below (motor protection/cable sizing/etc), industrial networking, as well as the aforementioned field construction engineering drawing packages. This includes dealing with the design aspects of a myriad of smart industrial devices from PLC’s, custom subsea control systems, flow computers, instrumentation, VFD’s, soft-starts, switchgear protective relays, MOV’s, etc. My hazardous area experience is based mainly around design considerations for Class I, Div 2, Group C and D areas. If standards are non-existent and/or difficult to interpret, I have the custom design skills to press on with the project. In addition, other skill sets I have picked up are HMI programming and commissioning of Wonderware and Allen Bradley PLC programming for M-T-M transfer schemes. I am no stranger to the Modbus (TCP/IP or RTU) protocol as well as industrial networking architecture for fiber, Ethernet, serial and wireless communications. Also, I have hands-on experience operating 5KV /15KV switchgear during my transfer scheme FAT’s.Finally, I have a solid understanding of the complete engineering design cycle; project concept, research and selection of parts/BOM, engineering design, drawing generation, overseeing design fabrication, and performing FAT’s from my experience working for a subsea OEM.
