Manager - Global Loan Syndications - Diversified Industries
I managed a team of underwriters in Ottawa and Singapore with a focus on transactions in the Infrastructure, Telecom, IT and PE sponsored corporate sectors. In our group we participate in corporate loans via club or syndicated transactions with ticket sizes typically between USD50M-300M, but prefer to take meaningful ticket sizes to help facilitate CDN exports. My teams portfolio was is in excess of USD 6 billion and continues to grow as we support Canadian companies selling or investing abroad. EDC has other corporate lending teams to support other industry segments (Extractive, Oil & Gas, Resources, Mfg, Auto, Aerospace, etc) as well as engage in direct bilateral loans as well.
Financing Manager, Corporate And Asset Backed Lending
I am responsible for the end to end underwriting process for EDC’s corporate financing solutions for strategic customers and their buyers in the global Internet Communications Telecom (ICT), Infrastructure, Clean-tech and Financial Services sectors. These solutions include adding additional credit capacity in support of their syndicated credit facilities, direct bilateral term and revolving credit, providing buyer finance solutions to international buyers of Canadian goods and services and direct financing to foreign affiliates. Typical transactions range from $20-1B and are in support of companies with sales +$500M and up.In addition to our financing solutions for Canadian companies we also leverage our financing relationships with large foreign buyers to create the conditions for them to procure from Canadian suppliers, to introduce more SMEs into these global supply chains. Key responsibilities as a Financing Manager include all aspects of transaction management; credit risk assessment, structuring, negotiation, documentation. In addition to transaction management I am responsible for ensuring that all transactions are within EDC’s mandate as Canada's Export Credit Agency to further help Canadian Companies go, grow and invest abroad.
