CurrentI am in my second year at Atlantis Alternative in the Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools. The majority of our student population are 9th through 12th graders and come to our school in need of credit recovery. They have fallen behind for a variety of different reasons. We provide them a challenging, electronic based curriculum in their core subject areas as well as electives. Our students are expected to complete 6 courses (3 credits per semester), but our program allows for those motivated students to work at a more rapid pace. I teach 9th and 10th graders and spent last year in the school's Under-16 program where I had 7th through 9th graders, all of which came to my class from their particular home school due to long-term suspension.
