Hi there! I've spent my career thus far scoping, capturing, analyzing, transforming, and validating data to feed solutions in the healthcare industry. I love working with data and learning new technologies. I find projects in this space to be unique and often complex, and working through those solutions is something I enjoy. As part of the Integration team I work to deliver data-centric solutions using scrum methodologies within multiple cloud environments. I work with teams of varying technical comfort levels to ensure that our data is as accurate as it can be. I also maintain relationships with various vendors and contractors.I believe it's important to be able to communicate ideas to people of varying technical backgrounds. I am proficient at creating documentation and diagrams to break down technical processes, and believe that is a critical skill for a developer to have in order to clearly convey how technical processes will work. What I'm typically working on in a given day involves some form of problem-solving. I may be writing code, asking questions, analyzing data, creating data pipelines, or working with peers to build new solutions or tools.I currently work in a hybrid environment - one platform in Azure and another in AWS. Due to the immense amount of opportunity those cloud providers enable and I am working on upskilling to be a better developer. I do this by utilizing learning platforms, participating in tech conventions, and playing with technology in a home setup. I am currently studying with the goal of achieving cloud certifications. I want to be able to fully utilize the tools that these platforms provide.I enjoy working with smart, talented people who love what they do. I want to be able to learn from others and work with them to accomplish awesome things.--Tech that I work with now--Azure & AWSSQL & SnowflakePythonAPIsBitBucket & GitJira, ConfluenceLucidChartsTerraformTalendAzure Data FactorySSISVisual StudioDockerPowershellCLIHealthcare data (scheduling, billing, claims, membership, clinical)MS Office--Tech that I have used in the past--C#TableauVisual BasicCloverleafHL7Hadoop

Lead Data EngineerCatalyst Health Group Jun 2023 - PresentPlano, Texas, Us -
Sr. Integration DeveloperCatalyst Health Group Apr 2019 - Jun 2023Plano, Texas, UsAs part of the Integration team, I work with my peers to deliver data-centric solutions using scrum methodologies and within cloud environments. I work with multiple teams internally to ensure that our data is as accurate as it can be. I also maintain relationships with our vendors and contractors. This has been a constantly evolving environment with new challenges along the way. When I was initially brought on in this role our data operations were being done on-prem. At that time I took over ownership of our in-house ETL solution and was asked to become SME for that process. I added new functionality to the tool (based in SSIS, C# and SQL Server) and worked through client engagements to ingest new data sources into our platform. In addition to that, I was also operating as operations/support for interfaces and any potential data issues in our data warehouse. In early 2020 our technical groups made a shift towards the cloud. I worked with a consulting group to help shift our platform into Azure. During that process I helped work side-by-side with those technical resources to augment our ETL processes to utilize Azure services.Continuing to look to the future, our team started planning out a new product platform. In Fall 2021 I started getting involved in architectural discussions around a new platform that would be based in AWS and leverage a new ETL tool (we ended up choosing Talend). This required working with multiple groups internally. It also meant I was working with additional vendors and consultants, sometimes in a project management capacity. As the solution started to mature I was working on system diagrams and documentation to help share across teams. I was heavily involved in building a file ingestion tool that is built in Python and operates via AWS Lambda functions. That process fed Talend data pipelines that I was also heavily involved in creating. At this time I continue to work in and support both of our Azure and AWS platforms. -
Integration Architect (Big Data)Ibm Watson Health May 2015 - Apr 2019Armonk, New York, Ny, UsIn May 2015 Phytel was acquired by IBM Watson Health. During this time I retained my role, but had to work through some new and unique challenges.I served as the technical lead on assigned client implementations. It required a business focus, technical aptitude, and client-facing skills. This role effectively bridged the gap between business and technology. It required managing client resources, extracting and analyzing data from heterogeneous systems and working multiple priorities all while driving towards timely completions against established timelines. The implementation tasks I typically worked on included:• Technical requirements gathering to understand client business needs• Clear documentation that would benefit downstream processes and teams• Extraction of data from heterogenous systems (practice management, EMR, data warehouse, etc.)• QA and analysis of client data• Translation and load of client data into IBM Watson Health's backend systems• Ongoing support of client implementationsIn addition, I also had ongoing side tasks such as:• Improving processes to improve data integration efficiency and accuracy• Level 3 client support tickets related to data integration• Improving team documentation• Sharing knowledge with teammatesIn addition to these tasks, the transition to IBM Watson Health resulted in a situation where I worked in a "grey" environment. Processes/tools were often changing, and priorities shifted more often than they had in the past. So I began learning new methods for implementation, namely a shift away from SQL and over to big data toolsets and methodologies (Hadoop, HBase, Ruby, Pig, etc.) -
