Civil engineering touches many facets of our community and is a significant consideration for my clients and their projects. As the third generation to be involved with civil engineering, the joy and sense of accomplishment resulting from solid problem solving is a part of who I am and makes work a fun place to be. What does success look like to me? When everyone, from clients to colleagues, has a positive experience. At Shive-Hattery, professional development and learning and teaching are all important values. I’m able to share my enthusiasm for civil engineering with clients who are appreciate of a collaborative partnership and our younger engineers who will be tomorrow’s leaders. There is a great sense of satisfaction helping clients who have trusted me with very diverse projects including parks and watershed restoration to heavy industrial and commercial ventures. My focus is on water resources, such as stormwater control and water quality measures, and the related grading and utility designs for both public and private applications.
