Implemented and Managed the San Francisco Check Print site, responsible for processing check replacement documents (IRD) with a daily value of greater than $350MM.Primary on-site management responsible for all daily activities of staff including controlling budget by minimizing cost through overtime and supplies.Effectively communicated department status through the use of various media to senior management who were geographically located in a different zone.

Provided primary support to the Project Manager in the closure of the San Francisco Check Processing Center, with responsibility for relocating or disposing of processing equipment, managed vendors and worked to ensure security accesses were revoked timely to ensure integrity of data.Managed staff responsible for training and developing the department's awareness for quality and productivity.Provided technical support to the District Project Manager, to reduce redundancies or inefficiencies through training in three separate offices. Supported the System Project Manager on Check 21 related projects that were successfully implemented: such as the Pilot Remote Print Shop located in Salt Lake City (SLC).Created and implemented the information Security Detail Matrix for Local Office and District use, which ensured consistency of security practices across District Operations.Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the District Check Website, updating the information for three Check Shops.

Supervised four different processing units, instilling quality and enhancing productivity through training and teamwork. Developed a full service unit of processing incoming deposits from high profile (Payor Bank Service) customer, with an emphasis on maintaining optimal quality standards.

Return Items, Overdraft Department Prepared and managed an annual department budget of $1.1 million. Review financial cost and forecast to within 1% variance monthly. Managed staff of 20-24 employees, consisting of both exempt and non-exempt personnel.Observed an internal bank process to be too time consuming with potential for errors; analyzed the process and automated the analysis of FED fee calculations which resulted in five major benefits: 1) Quality of data improved by 75%. 2) Quarterly reporting became standard. 3) Provided the ability to review 50% more banks. 4) Soft dollar savings of 10-15% of an officer's time/salary. 5) Statewide implementation. Analyzed reporting system for Department key indicators. Modified the reporting format to capture greater detail. This increased the accuracy of numbers (both volume and dollar amounts) by 80%, and for this reason selected for statewide use. Created a production standard system for clerical staff by working with programmers to develop a PC based tool. This measured performance and results in a more objective way. This tool has been institutionalized District-wide to verify quantity, quality, and relevance of production levels.Selected to serve on Electronic Check Clearing House Organization (ECCHO) Project Team as liaison between the user district and the programmers. Initiated test cases to ensure the various overdraft scenarios were tested for proper behavior scoring. Offered suggestions for enhancements prior to implementation, enabling an almost error-free first time install.

Appointed to clear up backlog in four areas: U.S. Treasury Claims, Correspondent Tracers, Late Claims, and Correspondent Letters. Analyzed the problem to determine total volume of work; trained the staff in the performance of their duties, developed production standards, and automated the tracking. Cleaned backlog within 8 months resulting in accurate reporting to upper management on volumes, and activities of the Unit. Managed new-to-the-Department function of Foreign Return Items. Investigated rules/regulations, customer expectations, and identified supporting procedures. Trained employees to execute duties and provide more efficient services to both internal and external customers.
