I am very grateful to what I have accomplished so far in my life. Looking back, I worked hard for my family and I am very fortunate to get this far. My family is healthy, I am healthy, my relationship with my wife is healthy, but the greatest achievement that I have accomplished in my life is my professional life. Sense graduating from college, I have worked in several leadership roles including the Military, production, retail and human resource roles. My most admired role was an officer in the United States Army. In this role I lead soldiers into combat. I learned how to manage teams in a way that they were functional. The teams ran themselves. Good leaders know how to train and help other leaders achieve their goals. This was the most rewarding achievement in my professional life. After retiring from the military, I took on the role of a production supervisor for a janitorial supply company. In this role I was able to lead a small team of production workers. As a supervisor, I was able to direct this team into meeting production, shipping, and delivery deadlines. I was able to maintain customer orders due to the fact that I had a strong team dedicated to the goals of the company. When I left the production sector, I entered the field of retail management. I signed on as a Merchandising Assistant Manager at Fred Meyer Inc. In this role, I provided direction, implementation of plans, and motivated teams to meet the strategic goals of the company. I was committed to helping team members achieve their career goals through mentoring and training. I was motivated to communicate and work with the teams to accomplish organizational goals on a weekly basis.In 2016 I was Human Resource Assistant Store Manager at Fred Meyer/Kroger. I learned all aspects of the human resource process from recruitment to retention. The best part of this job was watching new hires grow with the company. I brought enthusiasm and compassion for people everyday that I was at the store. This helped me gain respect from all my peers along with appreciation from all my customers. It was amazing to feed the human spirit everyday.
