Jeffrey Scott has 30 years of experience as business leader for some of the largest institutions in the U.S. Most recently, he was a Managing Director for Goldman Sachs where he co-led the chief investment function for large corporate pension clients, and global sovereign wealth funds’ strategic partnerships with assets under supervision totaling $32 billion. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Jeff co-founded Verus Investors, LLC, and led Verus Investors in building a $21 billion outsourced CIO business which was eventually purchased by Goldman Sachs in 2017. The first 20 years were primarily with recognized leaders in investment management; Chief Investment Officer of Alaska Permanent Fund ($40B), Assistant Treasurer of Microsoft (responsible for all capital market operations, including $100B investment portfolio), and Financial Manager at Dow Chemical (focus on debt issuance, global banking and interest rate & foreign exchange management).Mr. Scott is a recognized leader within the investment industry receiving awards and featured in magazines like Institutional Investor and aiCIO – 2011 Outstanding Contribution Award for the Hedge Fund Industry and 2010 Industry Innovation Award, respectively. He also appeared on Bloomberg and CNBC (Delivering Alpha). Additionally, Mr. Scott was a 2012 member of the Long Term Investor Council of the World Economic Forum which produced the white paper, “Measurement, Governance and Long-term Investing”. From 2011 to 2013, he was a visiting scholar at Stanford University’s Collaboratory for Research on Global Projects. Jeff holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in finance from the University of Idaho. He completed the CFA program and FINRA Series 3, 63 and 7 exams (no longer active).
