Responsible for leading market development, business start-up and expansion of Kureha’s new product innovations into the Americas.- Established new product strategies and led development teams in proving first applications for an innovative new polymer (polyglycolic acid), resulting in $100MM first plant investment in U.S.- Initiated and managed client relationships with the leading global beverage companies for a revolutionary high barrier, recyclable, PET bottle development; Commercially introduced PGA bottles in South Africa, while initiating trials in North America, Europe, and Australia.- Started sustainability-driven programs with major snack food and rigid cup/container clients for high barrier compostable, biodegradable and/or recyclable packaging materials via PGA with PLA, PP, PET and paper.- Captured first client and novel PGA application as an engineering plastic for hydraulic fracturing tools in oil well completions, resulting in new Kureha focus and division formation.- Forged broad product development activities in a range of industrial areas -- including specialty fibers, composites, 3-D printing, bio-absorbable medical devices and non-woven fabrics -- resulting in several business opportunities for PGA resin.

Following divestiture of Viskase’s shrinkable packaging business (to Bemis), assumed West Region sales team and national account activities for Tyson Foods, Farmland Foods, Bar-S Foods and Hormel Foods. Managed budgeting, resource planning, pricing, and training for $23MM region. - Reversed region performance trend, increasing sales 4% annually despite brutually adverse competitive pricing conditions.-Improved group sales mix by targeting higher margin plastic casing business, resulting in an offset to price pressure in other product areas and $1 million of new plastic revenues.-Cultivated $600,000 in brand new business by establishing distribution in targeted market areas and initiating sales development activities with Subway, Arby’s and others foodservice channels.
