Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands

Conduct annual facility safety inspections. Provide various safety training to employees. Conduct walk downs of the tasks taking place during a certain project or shutdown. Assist with the creation of Job Hazard Analysis and process for final approval. Attend shutdown meetings and morning section meetings. Conduct walk-throughs of work areas to ensure safety and environmental compliance. Respond to incidents, accompany the employee to the dispensary or hospital, conduct investigations, file a safety report and if necessary attend a lessons learned briefing.

Afghanistan

Built the Safety program from the ground up. No safety program had been established. Created JHA binders for the different trades. Provided safety training to all employees. Traveled to all Forward Operating Bases that we staffed and conducted Safety inspections and provided needed PPE. Work along side the government contracting representative to ensure the program was compliant. Processed concise reports in a timely manner. Updated the staff on changing Covid requirements on the Camp.

Romania

Conducted safety inspections, investigations and Accident Review Boards. Attend weekly command staff calls to review current situations and provide recommendations. Submit and file concise safety incident & investigation reports required by company, state & federal regulations in a timely manner. Provided recommendations to management, employees and the government on EHS changes. Conducted employee training on the Emergency Action and Fire Protection Plan, HAZCOM and PPE along with ongoing training and job hazards. Managed workplace injuries and illnesses in accordance with company injury management protocols. Provided weekly and monthly reports of key performance indicators to program management. Provided overall EHS leadership and direction to management and supervisory personnel.

Marshall Islands

Managed all the safety programs for the islands’ Public Works. (power plant, clean & waste water, generator shop, electrical, air conditioning & refrigeration, plumbing, sheet metal, welding, custodial, road & grounds, pest management, incinerator, heavy equipment and construction sections. Conducted accident and injury investigations with root/cause analysis and recommendations. Conducted walk-throughs of the work areas to ensure OSHA/environmental compliance. Evaluated working conditions and practices, identify haz-ards, develop corrective measures, process the Safety Hazard Report and ensure mitigations are put in place. Ensured spe-cific employees are lead and/or asbestos trained, along with medical monitoring. Re-established the Respiratory program and created the Hearing Conservation Program. Held bi-monthly safety meetings attended by managers and superintendents. Reviewed subcontracted workers’ safety programs and certifications prior to projects commencing. Reviewed all activity hazard analysis documents prior to being implemented. Coached and mentored supervisors to build a stronger safety culture.
