Maintain Cisco, Juniper, and Alcatel routers, in addition to Infinera, Cisco, Fujitsu, and Ciena DWDM optical devices. Daily activities include managing outage restoration efforts, troubleshooting loss of redundancy, loss of capacity, and hazardous condition issues, and performing maintenance window activities. We work directly with our vendors to keep our networks in optimal health.

Monitoring and maintaining the CenturyLink Global Transport Network. Opening trouble tickets and working the repair of network equipment and facilities with field operations, tech support and off-net providers. I know equipment specific maintenance procedures and can assist field ops in card swaps and equipment restoral. I take the lead in driving equipment and facility repair. I know transport network topology and can make final go/no-go decisions on maintenance based on current network status. I analyze network events and identify critical issues, setting appropriate priorities to maintain 99.9999% network reliability. I follow MOPs, anticipate problems, and take corrective action proactively. I understand and research technical issues through vendor documentation. I have thorough understanding of telecom, network topology and CenturyLink repair procedures. I work with minimal supervision in a NOC environment and am available to work all hours in a 24x7 environment.
