• Led design efforts on many chassis, battery and body components of four EV truck programs. Master assemblies and sub models were developed to ensure all possible load cases were taken into consideration. The focus was a balance of strength with optimized mass.• Established many rigorous durability load cases based on industry standards as initial pass/fail criteria for a new Class 5/6 EV last mile delivery truck program. • Measured durability track accelerations on the newly designed W56 to establish random vibration analyses for design iteration 2. This became the established design method.• Mentor younger engineers / co-ops / contractors with 2D/3D project duties.

• Supervised the modeling of complex Nacelle Engine Exhaust finite element assemblies for use in Thermal, Static, Sonic, Fatigue and Windmill loading. • Post processed a wide range of data to compare ultimate and allowable limits. Fatigue results were calculated based on the customer’s preferred conservatism to show low cycle and high cycle life and damage.• Spearheaded the design efforts for junction fasteners in the exhaust assemblies. Static and Fatigue analyses were used to justify and validate standard or exotic fastener configurations.• Developed a methodology for scaling acceleration functions for HCF tests. Fatigue analyses were used to reduce the number of cycles needed for the actual lab tests to expedite results. • Expansive knowledge in the latest versions of the following FEA solvers: Nastran with FEMAP, ANSYS (Classic and Workbench), ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, Solidworks Simulation and Hypermesh. Solution types used: Static Structural, Transient/ Dynamic, Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow (CFD), Sonic, Modal and Harmonic analyses. Experience with Python scripts.

• Created fully functional finite element assemblies based on customer needs and requirements in a timely manner. Independently managed programs from solution setup to report delivery.• Managed programs with the intent of optimizing manufacturing processes using fluid flow analysis.• Researched data and performed empirical tests for the loading conditions and material properties of the simulation setup.• Detailed reports were generated often along with the models and tutorials so the customer could repeat analyses with different loading conditions.

• Analyzed non-conformance parts due to in-service damage or harmful machining operations and substantiated their serviceability for cost savings. Repeated cases resulted in design changes.• Performed structural and thermal analyses on nozzles, blades, disks and rotors using FEA to determine life limits and understand fatigue. Results were used for repair manual limits.• Implemented Fracture Mechanics solutions for the Repair group using advanced software for various thermal coatings and levels of damage.• Coordinated the research on the effects of extreme environmental conditions such as sand, saltwater and pollution on hardware. As a result the part design, engine manual or repair operation could be revised.

• Designed an iteration method using CAE based on the Fatigue Design Diagram (FDD) to define surface enhancement compression magnitudes to extend part life of various Aero components. • Performed various modal, static, harmonic and complex contact solutions using CAE on aerospace, military and biomedical components.• Wrote FORTRAN computer code to input measured residual stress, simulate creep strain, analyze crack growth and execute many other complex engineering solutions.• Researched past articles to compile prior-art relevant to a patent’s claim of originality.
