I completed clinical training at Fort Riley, KS and received my BS degree and commission to 2LT in May 2000. After completing the AMEDD Officer Basic Course in Sept 2000, I was assigned as the battalion medical officer for the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. I completed my MPAS degree in Family Medicine in 2001. I provided primary and urgent care to active-duty soldiers in both field and clinical medicine. I also provided family medicine practice to DoD retirees and family members during this timeframe. During this 5 years with the 1st Cavalry Division, I deployed in support of OEF from November 2001 to March 2002 and in support OIF I-II from Jan 2004 to March 2005.
