Jeff founded Stapleton Landscape Architecture, PLLC in 2002 by with a goal to provide a broad range of professional landscape architectural services to Southwest Virginia and the Tri-cities TN/VA region. In keeping with this initial goal, Stapleton Landscape Architecture has worked on a variety of design projects over the years. The company's portfolio includes traditional landscape architecture projects such as parks and residential gardens, as well as many that are not, like rain gardens and the development of environmentally sound stormwater management and erosion and sediment control plans. The range of designs in between includes school campuses, trail systems, green roofs, corporate offices, commercial landscapes, and arboretums.

Jeff developed numerous traditional landscape architectural designs for clients, as well as provided site and master plan design services.

Jeff developed a variety of land management (conservation) plans for public and private land owners in Scott County, Virginia, as well as providing technical designs for numerous conservation practices. He also was the combined administrator for the Scott County Erosion and Sediment Control Program. In addition Jeff oversaw environmental outreach and education and other special programs for NTSWCD.
